Adult
Education
We are
fortunate to live at a time when people recognize the importance
of life-long learning. For this reason Westminster provides Sunday
school classes for adults year round.
At any given
time we will have classes working their way consecutively through
a book of the Bible, others conducting devotional surveys of the
Old or New Testaments, topical classes taking advantage of books
written by Christians dealing with issues particular to women, parents
or men.
An adult trac
is also provided on Wednesdays that combines worship, prayer for
one another and a short teaching time.
Our hope is
that through these classes we will be able to equip one another
to face the challenges of life in the power of God’s Spirit
as he unites us with the living Jesus.
Classes tend
to change each semester so you will want to refer frequently to
the course description link.
Small Groups at Westminster
Small
groups have played a long and important place in the spiritual life
of Westminster.
Historically,
the women have long gathered in their “Circles” for
Bible study, prayer and service. The women’s circles are generally
organized by age.
Commonly small
groups of men, women and couples will join for anywhere from 13
weeks to going on five and six years for Bible study, prayer and
support. One of our small groups pooled resources to help build
a church/orphanage in Cambodia. Others gather informally for weekend
retreats.
If you desire
to be part of a small group our elders working in the area of Christian
Discipleship will be happy to assist you connect with a small group.

Wednesday
Night Dinner
On Wednesday evenings from September to early December and from
January to April, Westminster Presbyterian has a wonderful time
of fellowship and spiritual enrichment designed for all ages. Dinner
is served from 6:00 to 6:30 followed by a brief time of singing
and sharing. At 6:45, there is a program designed for each age group,
ranging from a bible study for adults, to choirs for preschool through
elementary age children, to youth activities geared to the middle
and high schoolers. This is a great time to fellowship with friends,
get to know people better and have a mid-week spiritual boost.
Circle of Friends
From time to time we give people in the Westminster family the opportunity to meet four times over a ten week period for food, fellowship, prayer, Bible study, and support. These groups meet in homes and have been great in helping us get to know one another better.

Men's
Activities
There
are various men's activities at Westminster. Some are more formalized
than others. The Men's Breakfast group meets the first Friday of the month at 6:45 a.m.
Periodically,
there are bible studies and small groups that are formed as a result
of various events. For example, the men's weekend retreat is held
in September each year, and small groups evolve out that weekend's
focus. There are also existing men's small groups some of which
have availability for men to join. If you are interested in participating
in men's small group or bible study, please contact the church.

Presbyterian
Women
Presbyterian Women’s Website
Presbyterian Women (PW) is the national women's
organization of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). With a national
history of more than 200 years, PW is committed to nurturing faith,
supporting the church's mission, working for justice and building
community. At Westminster Presbyterian, Presbyterian Women oversees
the circles of the church, plans fellowship activities and mission
projects, and organizes the annual Women’s Retreat in Valle
Crucis. In addition to these stated purposes, PW seeks to supplement
regular church activities with events especially designed for the
encouragement and spiritual growth of women. Part of the mission
of PW at Westminster is to be sensitive to the needs of members
of our own congregation as well as to contribute to other missions
locally and worldwide. Many opportunities for leadership and involvement
are available through Westminster’s Presbyterian Women.
