Christ
is at the center of our worship and our life. At Westminster,
we offer corporate worship in the Reformed and Evangelical tradition
where preaching, prayer, music - both traditional and contemporary
- drama and liturgical dance combine to open our hearts and minds
to God's living word and unite us as a community ready to serve
God in the world.

Music and Worship Arts at Westminster
Under the leadership of Mary J. Renneckar (BME, MM), every age group can experience ways to express their love for God and service to the Church through worship leadership. One of Mary J.’s favorite quotes is, “God desires an act of love, not a performance.” If you have any questions, please feel free to drop Mary J. a line at MJR@wpc-clt.org
Children’s Choirs are offered during the school year at WPC’s Wednesday Night Cross-Training (6:00 dinner, 6:45-7:30 children’s choirs/adult & youth classes). Each choir sings in Sunday morning Worship about once a month. In addition, the choirs sing for Lessons & Carols, Christmas Eve, Palm Sunday, and perform a Spring Musical.

Westminster Choir provides music for our worship services every Sunday during the school year. Special attention is given to spiritual and vocal development as well as to increasing our knowledge of sacred music. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings right after Cross Training, 7:40-9:00. Special events/services include a fall retreat, Lessons and Carols (with orchestral instruments), Lenten, Easter, and Pentecost Services. Rehearsals are efficient and designed to accommodate busy, traveling lives.
A Contemporary Music Ensemble will begin in January 2008. Please call Mary J. if you are interested. |
